Cinema Makeup School and Fangoria magazine are pleased to announce their co-sponsorship of The Ve Neill Legends of Makeup Scholarship.The scholarship is an annual award presented by Cinema Makeup School and Fangoria Magazine celebrating the career and craft of legendary makeup artists. This Scholarship has been introduced to identify those newcomers to makeup who are dedicated and motivated by passion of their craft to spearhead the next vanguard of professional makeup artists.

The 2017 Legends of Makeup Scholarship has been named in honor of Ve Neill. Ve Neill has been nominated for Oscars a total of eight times and won for Beetlejuice, Mrs. Doubtfire and Ed Wood. Her other nominated films include Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Hoff, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. You’ve recently seen her artistry such films as Priest and The Amazing Spiderman. She is also a regular makeup competition judge on SyFy’s hit reality series Face Off.

The 2017 Legends of Makeup Scholarship will consist of a $10,000 scholarship award to be applied towards any Cinema Makeup School program at its Los Angeles campus, and will be awarded to one person who is looking to further his or her education in the area of makeup artistry. The winner will be announced through the online resources of Cinema Makeup School.

Recipient will be chosen based upon a combination of the following criteria: financial hardship, triumph over adversity and artistic ability.

Each applicant must meet the enrollment pre-requisites for Cinema Makeup School. Enrollment requirements: each individual must be over the age of 18 by the time they begin classes, and must have proof of high school completion or its equivalent. The Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. residents and to international students who must meet the requirement of qualification for an M-1 student visa under the regulations of the U.S. Department of States. The winner must be able to provide confirmation of requirements within 30 days of the announcement as the winner, or the Scholarship will go to the runner-up. The Scholarship can be used only at the Los Angeles campus. The recipient must start classes by December 31, 2017. The award may be used towards tuition for any Class or Program at Cinema Makeup School – up to $10,000 USD. There is no cash award or cash value for unused funds. Neither Cinema Makeup School nor Fangoria are responsible for applications not received. The decision of the panel is final. Only the winner will be notified by mail.All applications and accompanying portfolios, images, documents and other materials will become property of Cinema Makeup School.
