Starting 2017 Right!

Welcome to the New Year

We ushered in this new year with a bang! IMATS LA, the biggest beauty convention in the world, was a treat that our artists enjoyed to the fullest as well as the few graduates that we had enter the contest ‘Battle of the Brushes’. We also welcomed a new CMS Family member

Ve Neill is welcomed as the Director of Education

CMS is happy to announce that this month we welcomed FaceOFF Judge and proffesional makeup artist, Ve Neill, to our family as Director of Education. Under her belt she has such films like; Beetlejuice, The Lost Boys, The Hunger Games and much more!

A couple of days a week she will be assisting students by doing portfolio reviews for our graduates! Make sure to email us at [email protected] or even give us a call for more information on how you can apply.

Underworld:Blood Wars Contest

The premiere of Underworld Blood Wars was just around the corner and we were fortunately able to collaborate with them in the form of a contest! The gist of the contest was for our students to create a likeness of a Vampire or a Lycan and the winning prize consisted of a $100 and tickets to see the film! Chris Juardo was our winner with his prosthetic application with Yiwen Zhang as our 1st runner up with her intricate vein work. Head to our Facebook to check out the finished looks!

Cinema Makeup School once again took IMATS LA by storm this year, and we had a blast! With two demos each day and Ve Neill an Leonard Engelman at the booth we encouraged crowds to interact with our artists and watch the movie magic unfold.

CMS Graduate Marie Sommer took 2nd place in the Beauty portion of the ‘Battle of the Brushes’ competition with her African Queen. Congratulations Marie!

CMS Graduate Madison Burger fought in the character portion of ‘Battle of the Brushes’, unfortunately she didn’t place but I think we can all agree that her work is astounding.

And CMS Graduate Tripoli Beard fought in the beauty portion of ‘Battle of the Brushes’ with her Black Swan/Ice Queen!

Unveiling new Sketch Design Workshops as well as Business Lectures

This year we began to introduce our new Sketch Courses (Creature Concept Design) to our students to better help them visualize their characters! With CMS Instructor and Storyboard Artist, Jarett Fajardo, at the helm helping each student learn how to creature their creatures from start to finish.

Makeup sure to email us at [email protected] to reserve your spot! And head to our Facebook or Instagram for more information on when the next one is.

The same can be said for our new CMS Business Lectures. With topics such as Set Etiquette, Resume building, Professional Emailing and more! Networking is half the battle for makeup artists and we strive to make sure that each graduate leaves with a wealth of knowledge under their belts!
