Studying at Cinema’s campus enables students to be completely encompassed in the film industry while pursuing their dreams of professional makeup effects in the heart of old Hollywood – the iconic Wiltern Theater.

Over the years we have renovated our facility to ensure that we provide students with top-notch equipment & proper ventilation, as well as acquired new spaces to accommodate our ever-expanding network of artists and new courses.

Cinema makes an intentional effort to keep smaller class sizes for students in order to focus on a more personalized approach to teaching the fundamentals of makeup to the next generation of artists.

Cinema Makeup School employs a small list of full-time faculty who have made it their priority to create a special fortified space at CMS for students, graduates and guest instructors. The rest of our instructor pool pulls from our rotating network of working professional makeup artists. This is an important feature at Cinema – students may have the opportunity to study under some of the biggest names in makeup effects. By working with professional makeup artists, students are able to begin networking right in the classroom while learning state-of-the-art techniques. By partnering with working artists, CMS’ curriculum remains fresh and up-to-date with the necessary industry standards. 

Once completing their education at CMS, graduates are encouraged to come back to the school for any spotlight speaker events, ongoing workshops and to utilize our facility as they need for professional work. Many students keep in touch with our on-going roster of instructors and speakers post graduation. CMS’ alumni network is wide and far reaching. Many of our Alumni come back as guest speakers, instructors, demo artists and also employ some of our students.
